Back to work

My maternity leave is over. Yesterday I returned to work. Seth gave me a great big smile as I said goodbye, and then I left the house with tears in my eyes. I'd be a stay-at-home mom if I could, but it's just not an option for us.

    (((((((HUGS))))))

Sorry to hear that. I have always believed that a mum should stay home with baby for at least 2 years. I understand though, that you can't do that today. Everything is so expensive! I live in CA, and I definitely know about the high cost of living!

I hope you win the lottery!!

The main issue is health insurance. It's so expensive, so the best way to get it is with a full-time job. Sigh.

I "only" cried three times at work that first day.

I know it is hard to leave them. Thankfully I only usually have to do it one day a week and even then I get to leave him with grandma.

Sorry you are having a rough time with leaving! *hugs* It can be very hard at first, but hopefully it will get better!

Thx everyone. I, too, get to leave him with Grandma, which helps.

I'm so, so sorry. It's freaking hard, but it DOES get easier, it really does. It doesn't help when people make snide comments about working moms being the source of all of society's ills. (but maybe you're lucky and haven't been told that to your face yet!)

How is your second week back going?

Nope, no one has told me I'm the source of society's ills -- not to my face -- but I pretty much only see working moms these days. Maybe that's why.

I'm doing better. A little more composed these days. I try not to think about it.
